John aged 6 arrived in Australia from Poland in 1957. He grew up and was educated in Sydney , attended Sydney University where he attained the BA. and LL.B degrees, attended the Sydney College of Law and was admitted as a Solicitor in NSW in 1977. Like many Australians John got the travel bug and in the course of his travels met and married an English girl and ultimately settled in the UK.
John practiced law in England and in 1984 established a law firm Rosleys Solicitors in Nottingham a city of nearly a million residents. John worked on commercial litigation of all kinds and increasingly specialised in family and divorce litigation. The firm grew to a total of 25 lawyers and staff and became a major player in family law in the East Midlands of England. John was involved in a large number of Anglo--Australian family cases including international child abductions and international divorces involving substantial assets.
Rosleys Solicitors was amalgamated into a much larger law firm in 2011 enabling John to return to Australia and further develop his interest in mediation. John's many years as a litigator have taught him the pitfalls of litigation and the advantages to the client of mediated solutions. John is all too familliar with the court process and is a convert to Alternative Dispute Resolution ( ADR ).
Since returning to Australia John has undertaken further mediation training at the Queensland University of Technology ( QUT )as part of a Master of Laws Degree and is a nationally accredited mediator, practitioner member of The Resolution Institute. John Rosley is a mediator on the ACCC list of specialist mediators for Franchising disputes.
John is sharp in analysing issues in any conflict and works with all involved parties towards a solution through an interest based problem solving approach. John has many years of business experience as managing partner of a progressive law firm and in dealing with the many issues presented to him by clients.
